KanaTrace privacy policy
Last updated: 14 September 2026
KanaTrace is a hiragana and katakana writing trainer. It does not have accounts, analytics, ads, or a backend of its own.
What stays on your device
Practice strokes, chart selections, and the last script you used are stored on the device (AppStorage / UserDefaults). They are not uploaded.
There is no login. The app does not ask for name, email, location, contacts, photos, or microphone.
Optional tips
If you buy Coffee, Latte, or Lunch, Apple processes the payment through StoreKit. Apple’s terms and privacy policy apply to that purchase. KanaTrace does not receive your card number or Apple ID password. A tip does not unlock practice; practice is already free.
What this app does not do
- No tracking or advertising identifiers
- No third-party analytics or crash SDKs
- No network calls except Apple’s StoreKit when you open the tip jar or buy a tip, and when you tap a link (KanjiVG, this policy, the Creative Commons license)
Retention and deletion
Local chart selection stays on the device until you change it or delete the app. Deleting KanaTrace removes that data. There is no account to close and nothing on a KanaTrace server to erase.
Purchase records for optional tips are held by Apple, not by KanaTrace. Manage or request deletion of those through Apple.
There is no tracking consent to withdraw, because the app does not track you.
Children
KanaTrace is a writing trainer. It does not collect personal information from anyone, including children.
